The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is a premier national level autonomous Institution under the aegis of Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India in the field of teaching, training and research.

A Walk-in Interview will be held by Wildlife Institute of India (WII) to recruit 11 research personnel viz., Research Associate; Project Biologists, Project Sociologist, Junior Research Fellows, Senior Research Fellow and Senior Project Associates. All Positions are offered on contract basis. Eligible candidates can appear in Interview on Friday, 4th October 2013. Before applying to any advertised post, please read this article carefully.

1. Name of the Project: Execution of Implementation Plan - Kailash Sacred Landscape Conservation and Development Initiative
A. Name of Post: Research Associate (01); Qualification: Ph.D. Degree in Zoology/Life Science/Botany/Wildlife Science/Environmental Science/Forestry/Biological Science/Social sciences; Age: shall not be more than 40 years
B. Name of Post: Project Biologist (2): Qualification: Master Degree in Zoology/Botany/Life Science/Wildlife Science/Forestry/Environmental Science/Social Sciences; Age: shall not be more than 28 years
C. Name of Post: Project Sociologist (1): Qualification: Master Degree in Zoology/Botany/Life Science/Wildlife Science/Forestry/Environmental Science/Social Sciences; Age: shall not be more than 28 years

2. Name of the Project: Monitoring land use by wildlife, livestock and humans in Khangchendzonga Biosphere Reserve
A. Name of Post: Junior Research Fellow (01); Qualification: Master Degree in Wildlife Biology/Zoology/Forestry/Botany; Age: shall not be more than 28 years

3. Name of the Project: Ecology of leopard (Panthera pardus) in Sariska Tiger Reserve, Rajasthan
A. Name of Post: Junior Research Fellow (01); Qualification: Master Degree in Forestry/Forest Management/Wildlife Science/Environmental Science; Age: shall not be more than 28 years

4. Name of the Project: Ecology of lions with emphasis on the agro-pastoral landscape of Greater Gir Ecosystem
A. Name of Post: Junior Research Fellow (01); Qualification: Master Degree in Wildlife Science/Zoology/Botany/Life Science/Forestry/Veterinary Science; Age: shall not be more than 28 years

5. Name of the Project: Ecology of the endangered Asiatic Lions using Satellite & GPS Telemetry
A. Name of Post: Junior Research Fellow (01); Qualification: Master Degree in Wildlife Science/Zoology/ Botany/ Life Science/Forestry/Veterinary Science; Age: shall not be more than 28 years

6. Name of the Project: Evaluation of MHC Hetrozygosity in Isolated Tiger Population.
A. Name of Post: Senior Research Fellow (01); Qualification: Master Degree in Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Microbiology etc.) with 2 year post M.Sc. research/teaching experience; Age: shall not be more than 32 years

7. Name of the Project: GBIF Project “Capacity Building in Biodiversity Informatics”.
A. Name of Post: Senior Project Associate (01); Qualification: Master Degree in Environmental Science/Life Science/Wildlife Science/Biological Science (Biodiversity informatics/Geo-informatics); Age: shall not be more than 32 years

8. Name of the Project: Management Effectiveness Evaluation (MEE) Project
A. Name of Post: Senior Project Associate (01); Qualification: Master Degree in Wildlife Science/Forestry/Life Science/Biological Science.; Age: shall not be more than 32 years

Selection Procedure

The selection of the candidates will be based on `Walk-in-Interview’.

How to Apply

All candidates appearing for the walk-in-interview would be registered at WII. Candidates must bring the duly filled-in applications with attested true copies of testimonials of qualifications, experience, date of birth etc. along with copies of mark sheets of all examinations. All original documents should be produced at the time of registration.
