The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is a premier national level autonomous Institution under the aegis of Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India in the field of teaching, training and research.

Wildlife Institute of India (WII) has been assigned a task by the National Tiger Conservation Authority to cover major landscapes for ‘Monitoring of tigers, co-predators, prey and their habitat in India’. In this process, WII invites applications to engage 35 Research Biologists (31-Field Component and 04-Genetics Component) for the project entitled “All India monitoring of tigers, co-predators and prey”. A Walk-in Interview will be held by Wildlife Institute of India (WII) to recruit Research Biologists. All Positions are offered on contract basis. 1. Name of Post: Research Biologist (Field Component) (30 positions)
Qualifications: Master Degree in Wildlife Science/Botany/Zoology/Forestry/Life Science/Agriculture/Environmental Sciences/Agricultural Science/Veterinary Science/Biotechnology with 55% marks in aggregate.
Job Profile: Population estimation using camera traps, mark recapture, distance sampling and occupancy analysis.
Age: Shall not be more than 35 years
Payouts: Consolidated amount of Rs. 16,000/-

2. Name of Post: Senior Research Biologist (Field Component) (01 position)
Qualifications: Master Degree in Wildlife Science/Botany/Zoology/Forestry/Life Science/Environmental Sciences/Agricultural Science/Veterinary Science/Biotechnology with 55% marks in aggregate.
Job Profile: Analysis of large scale data on animal abundance and indices, field supervision and training, report writing.
Age: Shall not be more than 40 years
Payouts: Consolidated amount of Rs. 25,000/-

3. Name of Post: Research Biologist (Genetics Component) (03 positions)
Qualifications: Master Degree in Wildlife Science/Genetics/Biotechnology/Bioscience/Botany/Zoology
Job Profile: Developing a genetic database of large carnivores to understand population structure and gene flow.
Age: Shall not be more than 30 years
Payouts: Consolidated amount of Rs. 16,000/-

4. Name of Post: Senior Research Biologist (Genetics Component) (01 position)
Qualifications: Master Degree in Wildlife Science/Genetics/Bioscience/Biotechnology/Botany/Zoology
Job Profile: Laboratory and statistical analysis of genetic data, supervise and conduct DNA extraction, PCR, sequencing, and subsequent analysis etc.
Age: Shall not be more than 40 years
Payouts: Consolidated amount of Rs. 25,000/-

Selection Procedure

The selection of the candidates will be based on `Walk-in-Interview’.

How to Apply

All candidates appearing for the walk-in-interview would be registered at WII. Candidates must bring the duly filled-in applications with attested true copies of testimonials of qualifications, experience, date of birth etc. along with copies of mark sheets of all examinations. All original documents should be produced at the time of registration.
