A computerised machine will do the assessment of the answersheet; hence you should carefully read instructions regarding handling of the answersheet and the method of marking answers. You are advised to study this booklet carefully as it will help you in preparing yourself for the examination.
Please note that this is a competitive examination, mere passing is not adequate. You have to obtain a high rank in the order of merit. You should therefore put in your best effort in the examination.
THE WRITTEN EXAMINATION
The written examination will comprise multiple-choice objective tests as shown below. The nature of these
tests is explained with illustration later in this booklet.

Time: Composite time 105 minutes (1 hr and 45 minutes)
All the Tests will be printed in English only. You may attempt the tests in any order you like. However in your
own interest you are advised not to spend too much time on any one test, as you have to qualify in each of the Tests separately. Hence apportion your time accordingly. The qualifying criteria will be decided by the
bank as per its selection / recruitment policy.
There will be penalty for wrong answers marked by you. For every wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted from those obtained by you, so you are advised not to resort to random guessing. Please note that the types of questions given in this handout are only illustrative and not exhaustive. In the actual examination you will find questions of higher difficulty level on some or all of these types and also questions on the types not mentioned here.
