West Bengal Staff Selection Commission (WBSSC) invites online applications to fill up vacant posts of Assistant Sub-Inspector (Excise) under the Department of Excise, Govt. of West Bengal. Post Name: Assistant Sub-Inspector (Excise) (246 post)
Pay Scale: Rs. 7100 – 37600 + GP 3200/-
Age limit: 18 to 27 years (as on 01/January/2013). The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates.
Qualification: Passed in Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination or its equivalent.

How to Apply: West Bengal Staff Selection Commission extends the following facilities to the candidates for submission of application for the post of Assistant Sub-Inspector (Excise).

Documents to be Enclose: The copies of following documents are be submitted along with application form in support of candidature to these Govt. Jobs.
A. Requisite application fee, as and wherever applicable.
B. Recent passport size color photograph which is to be pasted on the space provided in application form.
C. Attested copies of all certificates in support of Education, Experience and any other specified qualifications.
D. Attested copies of documents in support of claim for age-relaxation.
E. Candidates, who are already engaged in Govt. Service whether permanent/temporary/work-charged employees, will be required to send their applications through proper channel.

Selection Procedure: The best performer candidates in following exams/tests shall only be selected for final appointment to these Government Jobs in West Bengal.
1. Physical Measurement Test
2. Written Test
3. Personal Interview
4. Medical Fitness Test
5. Verification of Character Antecedents
If any candidate found involve in illegal activities, such as canvassing the selection committee, false reporting of testimonials etc, his/her candidature will be canceled immediately.

Physical Measurement Test: Candidates must have physique as per mentioned below;
1. for Gorkhas, Garwalies, Rajbansis and Scheduled Tribe candidates
Height: 160 cms
Chest (Unexpanded): 76 cms
Chest (Expanded): 81 cms
Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per medical standard
2. for All other candidates
Height: 167 cms
Chest (Unexpanded): 78 cms
Chest (Expanded): 83 cms
Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per medical standard
3. The candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein, squint eye.
4. The minimum vision should be 6/6 with or without glasses.
5. Candidates should possess high color vision and should not be color blind.
6. Candidates should be of good mental and physical health and free from any physical deformity likely to interfere with efficient performance of their duties.

Written Test: West Bengal Staff Selection Commission will hold written test for the candidates who will found fit in physical measurement test. Detailed scheme of recruitment and syllabus for the written examination will be published on Commission's website by 31st January, 2014. Generally the syllabus shall be based on 12th standard examination.

Application Fees: The following Examination and/or Processing Fees have been fixed by the Commission for this Recruitment. All candidates must have to pay following amount as per their category;
1. for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe: only Processing Fee i.e. Rs. 20/-
2. for All other candidates: Processing Fee Rs. 20/- and Examination Fee Rs. 200/- (Total Rs. 220/-)
Mode of Payment: Payment of fees can be made online through payment gateway using Debit/Credits Cards / Net banking of any bank. If you do not to opt online fee payment mode, the amount of fees may be deposited in any of the Post Offices having e-payment facility. The list of such Post Offices is available in Commission’s website www.wbssc.gov.in.

7. Date of publishing Final Result : July 2014
