Subjects/fields/areas of the programme are mainly in the areas of Electrical Engineering and Instrumentation Engineering. This notification is subject to the regulation of the University of Calcutta.
Name of the Test: ENTRANCE TEST FOR THE Ph.D PROGRAMME IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING AND INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEERING
Eligibility Criteria : The following candidates are eligible to apply
i) Candidates having 66% marks or equivalent grade in Post B.Sc- B.Tech/ B. Tech/ BE or equivalent degree in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering.
ii) Candidates having 66% marks or equivalent grade in M.Tech/ME degree in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering or allied subjects.
iii) Candidates having 1st class M.Sc degree in Electronics/Computer Science and who have cleared UGC / CSIR(JRF) examinations/ NET /GATE /SET/ SLET/ Teacher Fellowship or any other equivalent examinations.
iv) If a candidate does not satisfy the aforesaid requirements regarding marks, but possesses at least 50% marks in that examination, he/she may be allowed to apply. Such cases will be placed before Departmental Committee for detailed scrutiny to consider the eligibility of the candidate for appearing at the examination and/or interview.
v) Candidate having B.Tech and M.Tech degree other than Electrical Engineering/Instrumentation Engineering/M.Sc degree in Electronics or Computer Science will have to attach a separate application seeking permission with his/her application form addressed to the Head of the Department for consideration. Such cases will be placed before Departmental Committee for detailed scrutiny to consider the eligibility of the candidate for appearing at the examination and/or interview.
